BSIC aim’s to engage black students at Ivey by creating a community that helps them feel included and valued. We strive to build and nurture each other’s success through networking, mentorships, and employment opportunities. To ensure an inclusive environment at Ivey for all minority groups, BSIC will advocate for minority groups, and serve as a liaison between minority groups and Ivey on diversity issues.

The Ivey Accounting Club’s (IAC) mission is based on four pillars:

  1. Resources & Tools – the IAC aims to provide students with the necessary resources to navigate the recruiting space, which has primarily relocated to the virtual realm.
  2. Network – the IAC works to connect students with the club’s extensive recruiter networking, including some of Canada’s largest professional services firms.
  3. Educate – the IAC educates students about the benefits of becoming a CPA and the various ways to achieve this prestigious designation.
  4. Support – the IAC strives to create a community where club members are encouraged to build connections and step outside of their comfort zone.
    With numerous events, both large and small, the IAC is determined to act upon these four pillars successfully.

The Ivey Analytics Club aims to educate students on the analytics industry and its applications to finance, athletics, and more. Through the opportunities provided, members will gain the skills, tools, and knowledge to enter the exciting analytics industry. Ivey Asset Management Club seeks to prepare students for investment management recruiting processes through educational events, firm trips, and more. In recent years there have been more and more investment internships and full-time roles available to university students, but the hiring processes for these jobs are not very visible to outsiders – we want to demystify buy-side interviews and provide students with helpful resources.

Ivey Book Club (IBC) is a diverse group of individuals who all share a passion for reading. As one of Ivey’s first interest-based clubs, IBC is a place for all who are interested in or want to explore reading and engaging discussions. IBC aims to enhance the educational experience at Ivey by supplementing learning with though-provoking reading, enriching discussion, and connecting like-minded people. Our monthly meetings and club events provide a place away from school for members to create new connections, relax, unwind, and speak their mind.

Ivey Business Review is written, designed, and managed by undergraduate students at the Ivey Business School and is the largest undergraduate business publication of its kind in the country. IBR publishes two issues annually in December and April with content created exclusively by students and maintains an active blog, curated by the IBR Editorial Board, with contributions from students and young alumni.

Ivey Case Competition Club is a close-knit community that trains members in advanced case analysis and presentation skills. Competitors represent the Ivey Business School at premier international business competitions.

The Ivey Community Consulting Project (CCP) matches Ivey students with non-profit organizations in Canada to undertake pro-bono consulting projects. Throughout the project, student teams are guided in their research, analysis, and presentation by Accenture consultants. Past strategic initiatives include creating a three-year sustainability plan, developing marketing strategies, conducting a capital spend analysis

The project is completed over a six-week period beginning in September and ending in mid November. During the project, two training workshops provide students with consulting resources A virtual Accenture firm tour provides students with an exclusive networking opportunity At the project’s Closing Ceremony, student teams present their recommendations addressing the business issues and are recognized for their accomplishments. 

Ivey Community Engagement Club (ICEC) aims to engage youth in the London area with Ivey through teaching the case method. Cases are taught by HBA students, and the case curriculum is developed in collaboration with Ivey faculty. ICEC has three pillars:

  1. Diversity of Thought – Build an HBA community that recognizes the need for business leadership in a wide range of fields.
  2. Socioeconomic Equity – Support students who traditionally would not pursue a business education.
  3. Community Engagement – Provide Ivey students with more opportunity to give back to the local community.

The Ivey Consulting Club (ICC) helps students explore, understand, and ease into consulting recruiting. We make the industry more accessible and approachable while giving members the tactical skills and resources they need to succeed. This club caters to students of all backgrounds and levels of familiarity with business and consulting.

We educate and prepare students for success in Energy and Natural Resource Industries. At the Analyst level, the focus is placed on preparing you for a career in Energy and Natural Resources (Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Metals & Mining). At the General Member level, we help you develop an understanding of all industries. We do so through 3 methods:

Mentorship for Analysts: Mock interviews with a focus on technical prep, resume review, and general recruitment prep. Equity research on natural resource companies and potential work/networking with companies in the industry.

Research Publications for Analysts: Every two months, analysts are tasked with creating a thought-provoking article on a company or industry trend that they are interested in. It is then posted on LinkedIn and sent to Alumni and has led to receiving upwards of 15,000 views.

Events for All: Plan on running a speaker series/panel event to get both members and analysts more educated on Canada’s Energy NR sector.

IEC is dedicated to fostering a world-class entrepreneurial culture at Ivey by instilling passion, creating a network of leaders, and giving our members everything they need to realize their dreams and change the world.

“The Ivey Fashion and Retail Club (IFRC) aims to educate students on the diverse career opportunities within the fashion and retail industry. ​​Career opportunities in fashion and retail go beyond working in sales or creative roles (design, buyer). There are also extensive opportunities to leverage your passion for fashion/retail while working in data analytics, corporate strategy, finance, operations and more.

This year will mark IFRC’s 6th annual conference, providing students with networking opportunities with Canada’s largest retail companies (SSENSE, TJX, Aritzia, Holt Renfrew, Hudson Bay Company, 437). Our additional events throughout the year aim to equip students to explore their passion for fashion and/or retail, and help students to build professional relationships. “

“The Ivey Finance Club is the premier club for HBA students interested in pursuing a career in finance. Past and current members have worked in fields such as investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund investing.

Supplementary to a great network and a fantastic track-record of both summer and full-time recruiting success, the club also provides members with mentorship, insight into the dynamic world of finance, and a supportive environment for like-minded HBA students.”

“Ivey Fintech works in collaboration with the Ivey Scotiabank Digital Banking Lab to educate and increase student exposure to technological disruption in financial services, drive thought leadership on the future of financial services innovation, and provide opportunities for student advancement into fintech.

As a member, you will gain access to Ivey Fintech merchandise, general events, and portfolio specific opportunities within Pro-bono Consulting, Education, Research and Publications, and Innovation:

Pro-bono consulting provides an opportunity for selected members to complete a consulting engagement for a fintech company alongside professional consultant mentors. Past clients: EQ Bank, Flexiti Financial, Dreampayments, and more.

The Education portfolio is a new addition to Ivey Fintech. It will focus on hosting educational sessions on various Fintech-related topics such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, AI, and more.

Research and Publications provides an opportunity for members to publish a fintech-related article in our annual magazine, Perspectives.

The Innovation portfolio provides an opportunity for members to work in teams on real-world projects to learn new skills like application development, design, and project management. Last year, we partnered with Community Living and the Boys and Girls Club of London to help advance their causes.

Ivey Health Sector Club’s mission is to help students build the network and skills they need to pursue a career within the intersections of business and health. Health related fields include healthcare finance and consulting, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and various healthcare management roles. IHSC plans to expand their opportunities/events this year, offering case competitions, healthcare design thinking projects, club socials, mentorship programs, industry panels, and informational sessions. Healthcare has been brought to the forefront of business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To capture the new trends that have emerged and reflect on what healthcare will look like in the future, IHSC plans to expand the delivery of relevant healthcare news on both our website and social media channels.

The Ivey International Business Club (IIBC) was founded with the mission of empowering future business leaders to develop their global mindsets by inspiring them to think big and challenge the status quo. From the U.S to Hong Kong, from Morgan Stanley Asia to Deloitte London, we connect students and influential business leaders across the globe through a series of initiatives, including interactive workshops, panel discussions, live case competitions, and more. The Ivey Law Club (ILC) unites Ivey students interested in pursuing a career in law. Often, these students are looking to combine their business studies with their passion for law. The ILC hosts a variety of events which prepare students for the law school application process and creates opportunities for students to build their own networks within the legal industry. The ILC Mentorship Program partners HBA1 students who are interested in the legal field with current JD/HBA dual degree candidates. The Mentorship Program enables students to gain valuable advice from upper years as they begin their legal journeys.

As the largest undergraduate marketing club at Western and one of the largest clubs at Ivey, the Ivey Marketing Club (IMC) operates as an inclusive community. IMC is committed to supporting passionate students in their exploration of the marketing, sales, and advertising industries. Through our curated resources, mentorship initiatives, and immersive events, IMC alumni have established a strong presence across various organizations, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies all across the world. Where will IMC take you?

IMC operates on three key pillars; including Education, Exploration, and Recruiting. Firstly, IMC aims to educate and supplement technical marketing knowledge that is taught in the HBA Marketing Courses through interactive workshops, rigorous case competitions,
and guest speakers. Next, IMC strives to foster exploration by connecting students to alumni and industry professionals for deeper insight into different roles/firms through Speakers Series, accelerated engagement events, and IMS. Lastly, IMC provides support to HBA students in their recruiting efforts through curated guidebooks, an established mentorship program, mock interviews, and recruiting bootcamps.

The Ivey Mustangs Network (IMN) is a newly ratified club that aims to connect past and present student athletes in the HBA community and help student athletes leverage their sports experience in recruiting and networking. This club caters to students in the HBA program that have played at least one year of a varsity sport

“Ivey Pride Club focuses on providing resources and opportunities that empower queer and trans students in reaching their fullest potential. We advocate to increase LGBTQ+ inclusion in business, facilitate opportunities for students to connect, and leverage connections with alumni at target firms to help students learn about an industry and break-in. We have a tiered membership system where students can choose to be on the mailing list (private), attend events as an ally, attend events privately, or be a general member.

#1: RECRUITING/CAREERS
We host career workshops, post job opportunities, coordinate LGBTQ+ business conference visits in Toronto and NYC, and create connection opportunities with our alumni who work across all major industries.

#2: ADVOCACY/ENGAGEMENT
We liaison with Career Management, professors, and the HBAA to ensure that O-Week, classes, and other events are a safe space for all students. We also run a Book Club/Movie Club for students to enjoy and reflect on LGBTQ+ media (business and non-business related).

#3: SOCIAL/MENTORSHIP
We support HBA 1s in acclimating to the academic and social environment at Ivey through a formal mentorship program, activity/bar nights, and other events that help students feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to school.”

Ivey Private Capital (IPC) is Ivey Business School’s premier organization focused on students pursuing a career in the private capital markets (private equity, venture capital, credit, real estate, infrastructure, etc.). IPC provides learning opportunities to students through its project teams, educationals, and networking events.  Project teams provide pro-bono advisory services to leading private capital managers in Canada including screening, thesis development, market analysis, valuation, and target identification. The experience is designed for the real-world application of skills, providing experience in the industry and strengthening students’ knowledge in an increasingly competitive landscape.  IPC general members can take part in educationals, deal discussions, and are offered a platform to grow their network for recruiting opportunities through industry speaker panels, competitions, socials, and more.

The Ivey Real Estate Club introduces HBA student to the real-estate industry by helping teach and develop the skills necessary for success in the field. Through panel discussions, workshops, industry speaker series, and networking events, members gain valuable experience and are exposed to opportunities that build a strong foundation for a career in real estate. Various functions including investments, asset management, and developments will be discussed in meetings such that members gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

IREC provides a great alumni network for current students looking to break into the industry and prides itself on a strong track-record of both summer and full-time recruiting success. The club’s executive team provides useful mentorship and resources throughout the academic year to members interested in pursuing a career in real estate.

Do you love the fast-paced nature of our financial markets? Are you excited by the idea of selling multi-million (or billion) dollar instruments to a group of clients? Do you love designing new things? If you answered yes to any of those, a career in sales and trading may be for you. What is the best way to learn more about sales and trading? The Ivey Sales & Trading Club – of course. The Ivey Sales & Trading Club mission is to educate members about the dynamic world of financial markets and prepare them for obtaining employment in sales, structuring, or trading roles at investment dealers, hedge funds, buy-side asset management firms and proprietary trading shops. This year we will host workshops, trading simulations, industry professional-led seminars and networking events to achieve these goals. S&T is a meritocratic industry and if you are interested in a fast-paced job that requires quick thinking and interacting with clever, like-minded people that rewards participants financially for making consistently smart decisions, the Ivey S&T Club is for you.

Nailing a job interview, pitching a business idea, and persuading your team with sound data analysis… what do these all have in common? The key to success in all of these is knowing how to SELL.

The Ivey Sales Club is the go-to club for skill development, networking, and sales recruitment at Ivey. While sales careers are diverse and fundamental to every business and industry, sales training is commonly underdeveloped and misunderstood. Our mission at ISC is to put sales at the core through meaningful mentorships, workshops, and intimate networking opportunities at Ivey.

This year, ISC will continue helping students navigate the diverse world of sales with our flagship Sales Career Day, pitching competition events, and workshops that develop data storytelling skills and more. Students will get a chance to network with firm representatives and industry experts looking to hire Ivey students. Our goal is to enhance and strengthen your prospects as you take on HBA1 recruiting with tons of networking and connections!

ISC is also a Western CORE Ivey Morissette Entrepreneurship club and promotes entrepreneurial development and resources across the Western and Ivey campus.

SIC aims to promote business as a tool to create positive social and environmental change, while connecting passionate Ivey students to opportunities in the impact space. We seek to provide a home for the impact-driven, inspiring members to create value in their own communities as a stepping stone in our members’ unique and wonderful journeys. We exist to empower students by providing experiential learning, career support, and impact education.

The outcome? An Ivey student population that is more aware of how they can benefit people and the planet from positions in any industry, in both for-profit and not for-profit organizations, as well as through their own conscious consumerism. SIC will appeal most to students:

  • Connecting with other impact conscious students in a warm and tight-knit community.
  • Curious about starting their personal social or sustainable ventures or pursuing sustainable opportunities.
  • Having a personal calling to make a difference, wanting to blend this calling with a successful career in traditional organizations.    

Ivey Sports and Entertainment Business Club (SEBC) is a club dedicated to bringing together Ivey Business school students interested in sports, and entertainment (film, music, etc) industries. Whether your goal is to work in one of these industries one day or you are interested in learning more about the business behind these industries, Ivey SEBC will provide you with the opportunity to explore the business of the sports and entertainment industry and open alternative career possibilities beyond the traditional business careers. In the upcoming year, we hope to hold many events, including viewing parties of major events in the sports and entertainment world, career & alumni panels, conferences, workshops, case competitions, and much more.

Ivey Technology Club is a technology-focused student organization at Ivey Business School. We foster a community of diverse tech interests and individuals. Members get access to career opportunities, recruitment support, educational workshops, and various mentorship opportunities.

Our events feature guest speakers, panels, office tours, socials, workshops, and so much more. Networking events garner successful and like-minded peers for support and collaboration on projects and recruiting. Additionally, our team creates a variety of resources from book recommendations, podcasts, Tech Tuesday newsletters, and other online resources to support self-learning about the industry.

We kickstart careers in tech, no matter your academic background! Our goal is to make tech a more viable and prominent potential career path for all Ivey students.

The IVCC is a student-run organization at the Ivey Business School that aims to make venture capital education and opportunities more accessible to the wider student body. We do this by hosting a variety of activities such as workshops, educationals, panels, firm trips, and case competitions. Through these events, our goal is to provide students with a deeper understanding of the venture capital industry and the skills needed to succeed within it. Whether you are looking to pursue a career in venture capital or simply want to learn more about the industry, the IVCC is here to help you achieve your goals.

Ivey’s Women in Management (WIM) club is a student-led organization dedicated to supporting the development of young, professionals through relationship building, knowledge sharing, and inspirational drive. WIM has empowered female leaders at Ivey through educating members about the diverse career opportunities and inspiring them to pursue new, challenging career paths. WIM acts as a liaison between students and corporate partners to make career and networking opportunities more accessible to members. WIM is able to cater to diverse interests through its conferences and events held by numerous industry leaders. It aims to equip members with technical and soft skills to build successful future leaders.

Through our mentorship program, HBA2’s and HBA3 students with a variety of different experiences are paired with our members to provide career and education support throughout the school year. Our collaboration with other ivey Clubs will provide additional exposure to industry specific partners. WIM is a tightly knit, inclusive community where everyone is encouraged to bring their true self, provide educational support, and discover the variety of different career paths tailored catered to your interests.

Since 1991, The LEADER Project (LEADER) has helped develop economies across the globe by teaching and coaching entrepreneurs in emerging regions through a two-week case-based entrepreneurship boot camp. As part of the two-week program, LEADERites travel to one of the organization’s sites to teach business fundamentals to program participants, covering subject areas such as finance, operations, strategy, marketing, and cash budgeting.

Students who are selected to participate in LEADER benefit from unparalleled insight into global development projects and unique cultural experiences, and have the opportunity to create an impact in both emerging economies and the broader Ivey community. Many LEADERites recall their time on LEADER as one of the most rewarding experiences they have had at Ivey and continue to stay engaged with the organization through the Advisory Board and Alumni Volunteer Program. LEADER’s continuity over more than three decades has resulted in 900+ Instructor Alumni and 10,000+ entrepreneur participants from all over the world.

This year, LEADERites will be travelling to teach in Serbia, North Macedonia, Nepal, Vietnam, and India. In addition, LEADER is launching a pilot teaching site this year in Uzbekistan!
