Welcome to Ivey, incoming HBAs!!

On behalf of the Orientation Week Leaders (OWLs), congratulations on your acceptance to Ivey! We’re beyond excited to welcome you to what will be an unforgettable O-Week and a year filled with opportunities, growth, and lifelong memories.

Our 180-person OWL team cannot wait to meet all 780 of you and help make your transition into the Ivey community as exciting and seamless as possible. Not too long ago, we were exactly where you are now. We were excited, nervous, and unsure of what to expect. If there is one thing we hope you remember, it is that you earned your place here, and you will find your place here. Throughout O-Week, your OWLs will be there to support you academically, socially, and personally, but that support does not end when O-Week does. We are here for you throughout your entire HBA journey. Whether you need advice, have a question, are looking for someone to talk to, or simply need a familiar face, you can always turn to your OWLs. Our goal is to help make your Ivey experience even better than the one we were lucky enough to have. 

At Ivey, you will meet some truly incredible people, close friends, mentors who will challenge you, and professors who will inspire you. Before classes begin, we encourage you to take a moment and think about what you want to get out of this year, not only professionally, but personally. Say yes to the opportunities that excite you. Run for section executive, join a club, attend an event where you do not know anyone, or maybe even apply to become an OWL yourself when the time comes. Your HBA experience will be what you make of it, so take chances, stay curious, and make it yours. At the same time, remember that your well-being always comes first. Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally, and never be afraid to ask for support. Whether that means reaching out to an OWL, a friend, faculty, or one of Ivey’s many resources, know that you are never alone here

For the past five months, our team has been working incredibly hard to create an O-Week filled with exciting events, meaningful moments, and opportunities for you to begin building your community. You will bond with your section, connect with faculty, meet your classmates, and experience everything Ivey has to offer in a fun, welcoming, supportive, and safe environment. We cannot wait to meet you, celebrate with you, and officially welcome you into the Ivey community. This is the beginning of an incredible year, and we are so excited to experience it alongside you.
